My cold sore popped up in the morning and I didn't get the cream until later that night and then I applied it. I really need it to be gone in 2 days. Will that happen?
Hey, have had cold sores sporadically since early childhood. I Am now 31. I use abreva when I get the tingling and try to apply it every couple of hours. The time it takes at any stage can differ but I've found that getting plenty of rest fluids and reducing stress really help me. As far as your question no one can know if it will be gone in two days but stressing out about it won't help, and can very well prolong it. Try owning it. Realize that the virus is fairly common in people just not everyone is as lucky as we are to get breakouts. People who treat you different as a result you will find don't matter so you should try to not let there ignorance affect you. What has helped me in the past is googling celebrities with cold sores. These are people that are revered sometimes as more than human and placed on this pedestal but also suffer with these annoying things just like any of us. They are still extremely successful And people still look up to them. Lastly if you can get a prescription for valacyclovir an anti viral med that can help. There are other things you can do which you can google and try that others do too, try different things and see what works best for you. But rest, reducing stress, applying abreva at first sign and often, staying optimistic, and valacyclovir at first sign are what work best for me. And remember you're not alone, own up to it, stay optimistic, display confidence that will carry over as to how people view you, even if you have to force it.hope this helps.
