I'm 25 and have never had a cold sore before. I've taken precautions not to get any, but a week ago I had one form at the right corner of my lips. I have been depressed all week and confused about the origin. I would really appreciate any advice on some good ways to get rid of it.
Herpes simplex type 1 infects about half of the population by the time they're in their 20's. It can spread from the very beginning, when the person just has a funny little tingle. It can also lay dormant in your body for years after contact.
What's with the depression? We all get viruses. They go away, at least the physical symptoms of it. Its just a cold sore. Did you get some abreva for it?
