... and what actions should be taken?
When first starting an oral contraceptive, or a new brand, break through bleeding is common. It can take around three months for your body to adjust to the new combination of hormones and as long as you are taking the pills as instructed you will have full contraceptive cover. You should see your doctor if bleeding lasts for longer than three months or if it is bothersome.
