A person that had a heart attach and is a diabetic is taking insulin injection?Plus heart meds but my question is the person is also taking glipizide 5 mg and metformin 1000mg, should these be taken by someone that is non-insulin dependant
The short answer is yes - it is safe for you to take all these medicines to control your blood sugar levels.
Insulin is added if your tablets are not working well enough despite lifestyle changes etc - it supplements your body's own insulin.
Your combination of medicines is very common. They all work together in different ways to help control blood glucose.
