When I get up in the mornings, my heart races like I just exercised. Is this anxiety. I checked blood pressure & it is usually 129/80 but my heart rate is high like 100 to 114 sometimes. My dr says its fine but it feels weird. Does anyone wake up with heart pounding in morning time then it will calm down. Should l start to exercise. Would this help. Dr put me on vitamin D cause it's low. Hope everyone has a pain free day... Smoovechic
Psychologically you are probably anxious still over going off the pain meds... let's be honest, they were helping you & now they're gone!! It's kind of scary cuz you got relief from them... When you wake up, try this breathing technique... breathe in as if you were smelling the roses & breathe out as if you were blowing out a candle... do this 5 or 6 times or as often as necessary to calm yourself down!! If the heart racing continues, be insistent with your doc that you want more help! Exercise & vitamins are good... best wishes!!!
HI smoovechic, that pounding in your chest is normal for anyone coming off drugs.when i switched from morphine to sub the 11 days in between my heart was beating so hard i could see it moving my chest up n down.if felt so fast and loud i thought i was having a heart attic. but it does and will slow back down to normal.
I have been off pain meds for over a month now and my heart still occasionally races. During the first couple weeks, my heart was pounding and I had high blood pressure. Now, I do still get some crazy palpitations, but it doesn't happen often. I think it's just part of the withdrawal and your body is freaking out a bit, but it will get better. Good luck! :D
