I'm 69 and Testim (5mg) was just recently prescribed for low testosterin. How long should I expect to have to take this ointment before I see some increase in libido and recover from ED? Currently finished my 2nd week! It is unbelievably expensive so the timeframe for continuing without results is obviously problematic. Please advise.
The typical patient is told to expect to be on Testim for one to two months before seeing signs of increased sex drive, secondary sexual characteristics or other results. Now, whether the testim will help your ED remains to be seen. As I understand it, Viagra, Cialis and Levetra (to name a few) ALLOW an erection to occur more readily. But it is Testosterone that affects desire and sex drive (libedo), and that's a totally different function. Both work together for male sexual satisfaction, but neither alone guarentees it.
