Maybe he can swallow the medicine easier without the capsules.
KAT; This is not a good idea the medication could be harder on his stomach and by it being in the capsule it gets through the GI tract prior to it causing any problems. They say the best way is put the capsule in just one spoonful of applesauce and it should make it easier to swallow just tell him to swallow don't chew the pill but it goes down easier. Chuck1957
I wouldn't do that either like the other poster commented. My son (8 yrs old) takes melatonin at bedtime as well, anywhere from 5-10 mg. But we buy him the gummies and they seem to work great and he likes how they taste. (Yes they are unreachable;)). I would suggest getting the gummies, or they do make fruit flavored dissolvable ones that are pretty good as well!
