- cancer, radiation, mantle cell lymphoma, colon, imbruvica
I am 62 and have had six different rounds of chemo and radiation for MCL. Finally Imbruvica is working. Last scan showed no active cancer in the 7 lymoh nodes in my colon.
My question. I have become very depressed lately. I am currently on 50mmg zoloft hut it was working but about 3 months into Imbruvica i noticed a downward spiral.
Anyone else having tis issue?
My husband is 63 and has just been on Imbruvica two months. He has not experienced any depression - in fact is pretty elated that this seems to be working. This is his 5th type of treatment over the course of 23 years. He tends to experience anxiety and a little depression during "watch and wait" periods as the disease progresses (he has CLL/SLL), but perks up when something is being done. Anyway we can't answer your question, but were glad to hear that Imbruvica is doing the job for you. We are still pretty new to Imbruvica so are interested to hear how people are responding. It has really shrunk his lymph nodes and most blood counts have improved. WBC shot up and is still high. I hope that you find the help you need for your depression so you can enjoy the benefits of your MCL improvement. Best of luck to you.
I also have MCL. Imbruvica has worked for me, I now get rituxan every eight weeks. So far so good. I am 63 and have been battling the beast as of 11/12/2012. The day I will never forget. Everyone gets depressed, it's a big deal. Do not let it get you down. I went through a few months when I was not sure it was worth it. I had a friend tell me one day, God talks through me for people. He said his has no place for you yet. That helped get over another problem. Keep looking forward, your not alone. Good luck on your journey. Gary
