I’ve just been prescribed it and looked it up and it says it can cause seizures. How likely is it that only 50mg will cause a seziure? Also I smoke cigarettes. Could that potentially increase the risk for a seizure?
I have been taking tramadol since 2001, and have been taking 400mg per day (two 50mg pills every 6 hours) since 2006. I sustained minor seizures after consuming more than I should - taking like three tablets at once repeatedly over several hours. I never had any adverse effects including seizures after only taking one 50mg pill. Usually, seizures result from taking more than the prescribed dose. I speak mostly from my own experience.
I honestly do not think cigarettes or nicotine are contraindicated when taking tramadol since I know several individuals who both smoke cigarettes and take tramadol.
