... morning i had to maybe 3 anxiety attacks. Not sure what is going on. Is it still ok to take xanex? I havent had to use it for a long time. Do I need to increase my dose of prozac? Any insight would be appreciated
Most likely it is time to increase the dosage of Prozac. You'll need to call your doctor and explain to staff what is happening and also ask about temporarily taking the Xanax until the new dosage becomes affective.
I've been in your shoes when it comes to Prozac and panic attacks. I would take the Xanax and also call your doc's office, as Laurie has indicated, to see if you can go to 20mgs of Prozac. It may help with the anxiety. Has the same doctor prescribed Prozac and the Xanax? I hope so!
Yes the same doctor has precribed both medications. My next question is will i have side effects from the increase in prozac? I hope not
I would take the Xanax, small dose, and call the doctor. We all have bad days. Too much happening, news that effects us deeply. It is ok. The doctor can sort this out for you. My orders are to take it if I feel like I am becoming overwhelmed. Xanax is addictive so be careful. That is why I use it situational. Now, I am not a doctor, none of us are here, so go by the orders you have received and get to talk to the nurse, at least. Hang in there. You will get better. Karen
Hi, you should be fine taking Xanax with Prozac, they are commonly prescribed together. Of course, inform your doctor of your wishes though. I agree with the ladies, it is probably time to increase the Prozac. You shouldn't feel any negative side effects by increasing the dose, just benefits hopefully. You may find you sleeping will be effected short term. You shouldn't feel bad about taking Xanax if you need it at the moment. There is nothing to suggest you will need to use it regularly again. Let us know how you get on?
