I have taken only 3 days of Trintellix 5mg and the nausea is so intense for me, I am already thinking of discontinuing. I am willing to work through this nausea if it's going to subside at some point soon. I think I'd rather feel depressed as to feel as though I'm going to vomit all day.
Hi, crabby! This is a very common side effect of starting Trintellix:
Very common (10% or more of users): Nausea (up to 42%)"
It usually resolves within just a few days to a weeks or so. Try eating small bland meals including milk, yogurt, soda crackers, etc. Ginger ale or ginger tea helped me a lot. If you check with your doctor or pharmacist you may be able to use an OTC like Pepto or Emetrol to control the nausea until your metabolism adjusts to the medication.

Best regards and I hope you can stick it out and are feeling better soon! Wildcat
I started the same drug, same dosage and even on the same day as you - I feel like you read my mind! Since then I have had the worst migraines of my life (I never get headaches and now feel much more empathy for those that suffer from this regularly). Beyond the headaches that are so bad they wake me up at night so that I have been needing to apply ice packs to my face/head, I have been nauseous since about 24 hours after taking the first dose. My body temperature also seems messed up - sweating one minute and then taken over by chills the next. Have you had that too? Sorry if TMI but I vomited twice as of Monday morning and have had body aches, joint pain, and some muscle cramping. Feels like flu if I hadn’t read up on all this I would have thought I had an infection or virus or something. No fever tho. I have more anxiety because of these issues now however, and I share in your indecision about whether to continue taking it. I couldn’t even muster taking it today :( so my plan is now to go back to the doctor this week and take the genetic swab test that helps determine which drugs can work best with your body’s metabolic rate. It is also supposed to provide predictions for how your body will react to an array of different antidepressants, and to show you to which drugs your body will respond most favorably. Have you done this? That might have been good for me to try first rather than after the fact! But I can’t deal with this nausea - I could not wait for the day to end at work so that I could go straight home and get in my bed - and albeit I have depression, I’ve never been one to go to bed before midnight unless I’m actually sick!! #disappointed
