So long as there are no other reasons for the child not to take it why would it be a problem? A mainly healthy child on no other medications can take this medication that is designed for use by children. Just stick to the directions on the package and use a proper measuring device NOT a flatware spoon as flatware teaspoons may not be an actual 5ml spoon.
