I take 600mg at bedtime for sleep and 50 mg 6 times a day for anxiety
Oh my... I am currently taking 600 mg of seroquel a night for 3 years now. I was worried about weight gain so I also take 10mg of ambien at night with the seroquel. I noticed without the ambien I would get the terrible urge to eat at night. Ambien alone can also cause the munchies at night . I weigh 115 lbs... The exact same weight as when I started the combo of ambien and seroquel . Please talk to your dr about either adding a sleep aid that is compatible with the seroquel . I know of people who have gained. 70 lbs in a yr . Being overweight is NO FUN and is very unhealthy for your heart and soul.
Talk to me more if you would like. I am. 54 and live in CA .
I know you are discouraged that you gained weight but what is the Seroquel presc to you for? Is it for depression, anxiety, bipolar etc. Is it helping in what you needed it to help you with. If so that is great! If not see if your doctor can change your med to something else. If it is working for you see if the doc can adjust it with something else to lower your weight. FYI a lot of these meds do make you gain weight but gives you back your mental health.
my brother takes 600 mg at bed each day and has also gained. when I myself took it I gained weight but I also became very aggressive so I discontinued the medication. it seems serequil has the side effect of causing one's self to eat more or to gain weight you should consult with your doctor on the amount our dosage 600 mg at bed plus 50 mg 6 times a day seems to much. Hope things get better remember to smile and keep your chin up.
