I have been diagnosed with chronic pain, degenerative disc disease, and cervical spondylitis ( I think I spelled it right) I have had epidurals, trigger point injections, as well as Toradol injections. I have done physical therapy, acupuncture, chiropractors ( starting at age 14- I played hockey and rode very spirited horses) , I can't even do yoga anymore because either my back feels like it's in a vise or I get these hot , almost bee sting like feelings in my neck. I of course take meds such as Naproxen ( which doesn't work) tried Meloxicam ( I didn't react well to that), flexeril, hydrocone, tizanidine, I go to my physical medicine doctor tomorrow is there any suggestions u have for me? Should I try tramadol and Norco, or oxycodone or would that be to strong?
Been there. It's very easy to get on the medication merry=go=round. As someone who has truly been there, I urge you to continue to seek treatments that help the body heal itself, no, I'm not sitting here with a crystal ball and a joint, I'm a survivor and live with 7+ pain on a good day. What they say is true, the drugs only mask the problem, and at best, they only help when we're taking affirmative action to seek out cure for our core. Achieved through nutrition, hydration, mental adjustments (how we perceive out pain as it relates to our self-esteem) and more.
The drug forest is thick and as you are already discovering, has no real end in sight.
You are still young enough to pursue methods and mindsets that WILL greatly improve your quality of life for the next 20-30+years.
Hope this sparked something new in you. Much more to it, time is limited here. Best to you, you are not alone and this is not the story of the rest of your life, it's the beginning of your past. The pain will get you to believe otherwise, but it lies.
