metadate cd. i now nothing about it. she is my only child, there has to be something that a 4 year old could take to calm down a few notches. wow, it's unreal. help
My advice is that if you get stressed out or overwhelmed from your daughter's energy, perhaps you should look into seeing a therapist to learn how to deal with those overwhelming feelings. There are also parenting classes that are offered by psychologists and counselors and such, some of them are offered for free to the general public. Please don't be offended by my suggestions. It's understandable to have such feelings, you're a new mother essentially, this is your first child, and you likely don't have much experience dealing with taking care of children. I mean, maybe you've babysat in the past, but you know more than anyone that babysitting a child for a few hours is completely different from being a parent of a child from the moment they're born until the end of your life. And I'm definitely not suggesting you're not a good mother, either.
But parenting classes can help give you the tools to help deal with your child's actions, and therapy, of any kind, will help teach you the tools to emotionally deal with feelings of being overwhelmed. Please take these options into consideration, and please don't be offended by anything I've said. Being a parent is the toughest job in the world, and despite what some people might say, it's not something that just comes naturally as soon as you have a kid.
