I have avascular necrosis in the right femur head and it can collapse at anytime but i don't have any insurance and i need surgery. I can't walk barely and in pain. What can I do to get help?
Just a couple of ideas here. Check with the hospital to see if you can get approved for Hillburton Funds. Also, many states have a program called Vocational Rehab (I think it is through the Unemployment Office). If you have a condition which prohibits you from working and have no insurance, they (the State) will pay for medical care/surgery/PT to correct the condition so you can return to work. I used it for my neck several years ago and they paid 100% of doctor and hospital costs. Can you qualify for Medicaid?
Just a few ideas. I hope you find a way to get your surgery. Best wishes to you!
Along with great advice from Kathy, keep in mind that even though you may not have qualified for Medicaid in the past, you may qualify for it the near future if your State votes to extend Medicaid under ObamaCare to 133% above the poverty line. It may be worth it to contact your State legislators with your situation and encourage them to pass it. Wish you the surgery soon. Sara
