So he put me on metrondizale gel 75 percent twice a day fr ten days!!! i just want to know is this effective as well as the pills??? when I finish the 10 day when can I start having sex with my husband???
I have to ask, what is your immune system weak to? It looks like you think the taste was effecting it. There are ways to take pills that you don't taste them so much, and I think you need to take the pill. I don't know if a local gel works like the pills. Was your husband treated? Both of you have to be or you pass it back and forth.
Kaismama is right on as always. Another point to mention, if you drink alcohol at all with either the pills or the local gel it will make you violently ill-abdominal distress, nausea, vomiting, flushing and headache. Alcohol is contraindicated while you are on this medication and for 24 hours after you finish the last dose! If you have been drinking any alcohol while on the pills it is probably why you couldnt tolerate them. She is right on that you both need treatment or you will be right back where you started once you begin having sex again. He needs to be treated as well even if he has no symptoms. Any sex partners that either one of you may have, male or female, need to be treated as well. This infection is passed by penis to vagina contact or vulva to vulva contact. The pills are preferrable. Trich may not respond as well to the gel, it might help ease symptoms but it may not cure the infection.
