Hi, I am 32 and have serious back problems with MRI and pain clinic documentation to prove it. I have had two shots and was told by Dr. that I need surgery. I just had knee surgery 2 weeks ago due to dislocations and need the other knee done as well. I am in so much pain from my back, I can't even bend over hardly to pick something up, let alone walk right. This chronic pain has been going on for 8 years now due to an athletic accident. My Dr. after reviewing my MRI's and consults said I have the back of a 60 year old but he is very 'anti pain medication' and it took me 5 months just for him to put me on Percoset 10/650. Can someone give me some advice as to how I can get the right medication that I need so I can at least function somewhat during the day, I have to hold onto something just to bend over. I'm a mess. I live in small town USA and I just don't know what to do. I've been visiting my Dr. for 8 months now and it took him this long, plus two back shots and two MRI's just to prescribe me the Percosets. Does anyone have any advice? I would like to take a heavier pain med and use the percoset as a breakthrough drug. Should I go to a different Dr. or are they all pretty much like this one, thinking I'm too young to have these problems etc...
Thanks so much for your time.
W.
