... effect). Anyone else have this side effect and if yes how did you handle it? Stool softeners including magnesium citrate do not help. Thanks!
You drank a whole bottle of mag citrate and didn't go? Sounds like you need dynamite. When I was on lyrica I had to take 3 peri colace every night. A mineral oil fleets enema might help you, it softens and lubricates. Dulcolax suppositories may help. Do you drink plenty of water?
I've had severe constipation for 18 years now. One of the things that really helps is to get a large canister of plump prunes (not dried), one large jar of naturally flavored applesauce (5 Cups), and 5 Cups oatbran. Put the prunes through a food processor , then add in the applesauce, then add in the oatbran. I divide it up and freeze sections - I eat roughly 1/20th of it per day. Warm up a portion in the microwave, then stir in 2 large tablespoons of ground flaxseed meal. Tastes good, and really helps with motility issues (what happens as a result of pain meds - things just don't move through your GI tract very well). You can eat it twice a day if needed. Drink lots of water - I drink 120 ounces a day or more. Hope this helps - EJ23
