My boy is 2yrs old. He did not eat since 1 month. Just a biscuit or apple slice per day. Not sure how he's living with it. Even doctors are not able to say anything. Thyroid and Jaundice tests turned up negative. Reduced weight from 17kgs to 12kgs in last 10days. Now he sleeps a lot. Got irritable very much and cries a lot. Please help me. Let me know whats the solution.
Is he moving his bowels normally (they may be less since he is not eating)? He might be constipated and full of stools. If his stools look dry and "rocky" he is probably constipated. Have they done any CT scans on his abdomen to be sure he doesnt have a problem in his stomach or intestines? Poor little guy. Something is not right! There is no way for anyone to tell you what is wrong over the internet like this. You need to keep on his pediatrician to find out what is wrong. I would suspect constipation and a bowel full of stool first. This would cause belly ache and lack of appetite. They can xray him to see if there is back up of stools. If that is the case, getting him cleaned out then using a high fiber diet and drinking plenty of water should prevent it from happening again. I wish you luck in finding out the problem. It is hard in these little ones when they cant tell you in words what is wrong.
This is so sad. I would take him to the nearest children's hospital and have him examined. If that is not possible I would pressure whatever doctors you can. He needs labs done. I would make it a full time job to find his diagnosis. He may well have a hormone or enzyme problem. Has he been checked for a stomach hernia? I would be going crazy. At least have him on a stomach feeding tube, not the one they put in the nose as he will pull it out. This could even be a severe allergic reaction.
His starvation causes him to sleep, be irritable and so forth. Keep whatever food he has liked in front of him. Use liquids like Ensure or some other protein supplement so he gets some nutrition and hydration. Give him anything he shows interest in. Let him have a sucker to regain interest in food. Keep him properly warm or cool. If too warm or cold he needs extra energy which he doesn't have right now. He has to have protein or the brain will be used for protein when the muscles deteriorate. And lots of fresh water. Sips all the time he can. Gatorade or something similar for his lost electrolytes. I think it could be something like constipation. I know of a woman who didn't go for a long time and she suddenly deteriorated quickly. The toxins of the body were not being eliminated.
It isn't too late yet. My prayers are with you and your child. Stay in touch. Karen
Hi, this must be driving you crazy. The first thing i would want to do is a head to toe scan to pinpoint any areas that look suspicious, and go from there... Is this possible? I can't believe his doctors are doing little to nothing about it!! As already suggested, can you bypass the doctors and take him straight to the ER? I truly hope some of the suggestions you have been given will lead to a conclusion. Please let us know how he is getting on??
I am so so sorry as a mother of 3 grown children I truly feel for you n your son... with that being said, I would get as many opinions as u can possibly get..in my opinion doesn't seem to me as though your son's doc is doing enough investagating... I as was already mentioned would find a good children's hospital to take him to... I am not sure where u live but pa has one... and I am sure other area's as well..but I personally would get another childrens doc a.s.a.p and get other opinions and possible testing I would be demanding more test..something ain't right and this poor boy needs the best medical care possible... I will keep your son as well as yourself in my prayers..obviously he must be in pain if he is crying a lot... I am so so sorry and hope u find a better children's doctor to run more test to find out what is going on with your son...
