Levemir, taken about 2100hrs., doesn't seem to be working. My mmol/l rose from 3.2 to 16.8 in the morning ( 0432- 0953hrs. ) over 5 hour period despite no carbohydrate intake and 2 x 10 units of novorapid plus activity!
I'm wondering if you need to be using it 2 times a day. Some medications can effect how it works too, if you're on any other meds. Other things in our diet can raise the blood sugar, besides carbohydrates. Everything we eat turns to glucose (sugar) in our body, that is how our body uses it. It just doesn't happen as rapidly as with carbohydrates. Your doc needs to know you are having this problem with it.
