I started getting v.heavy periods about 6 months ago and seem to have pms symptoms month round. Seen several docs and dentists plus an ENT, dental specialist and had a pelvic/abdominal ultrasound on which a small polyp was found. I have had food allergy testing done but no improvement on stopping the foods that showed up, I've done a peptest to determine if it could be reflux-it's not. Always gets easier when eating drinking and while asleep, also sucking on a clove really helps but otherwise it's daily pain burning stinging and soreness on left side of tongue mostly but all over the mouth and altered taste, bitter metallic.
For what it's worth...
My experience with burning mouth syndrome nmay be atypical, but my suggestion, which can't hurt, is that you try over-the-counter Omeprozole, or something similar. I, too, had negative tests for acid-reflux, but eventually was told I had "silent reflux,"meaning, no symptoms. My BMS is much relieved when I am diligent about taking my prescribed anti-acid drug. Currently, I am on Pantoprozole. Hope you think this suggestion is worth trying and if you do, I wish you success. Ellie

Burning Mouth Syndrome - BMS came out of nowhere and was thought to be advanced gum disease. Anyone?
