sorry to hear you r having such a rough time..first off make sure the doctor weans/tapers you off of the xanax... you should never stop taking these types of meds cold turkey..for it can cause lots of issues/problems..also I hear u say u still feel empty inside... is the bupropion the only thing u r on other then trying to get off the xanax? Maybe he needs to put u on a antideppresant or something like a mood stablelizer... I am not a doctor but am under mh and no exactly how you feel with the emptyness felling and so on been through it for a long time to they got me on a combo that works for me..in my opinion I think u need to tell him all of this the emptiness u r feeling and anything else that u feel u need to tell him..only he can determine the best course of treatment for u..also a counselor wouldn't be a bad idea either if u don't already have one..it is very helpful to have someone to talk to in confidence and get things off your chest..keep us posted... wishing you nothing but happiness..
Hello. That empty feeling comes when we have not set goals or even think we can have them. A purpose in life is essential. Helping others brings us joy and is very simple to do. Open a door for someone. Say hello to a stranger. Practice smiling until it becomes real. Your body doesn't know the difference, but I dare you to do it for three minutes. You may be surprised.
Have you a therapist to work out this feeling? Medication only does part of the work. We need to do the rest. A good therapist, someone you trust, is the key. The medication and therapist are what pulls us out of the miasma of pain and helps us regain our real selves. When depressed, and I know it well, we forget who we are because just about anything seems to take so much work. It really helps to have someone work with us. Are you doing this? Karen
