... breathing but I also tend to lose my sight when I stand up. The doctor says it's nothing to do with the PDA but That the blood just isn't reaching my brain fast enough so I should just shake my feet when I first stand up. I just wondered if anyone else with an unclosed PDA had the same issue with the eyesight thing? And if so will it change if/ I get the PDA closed? Thanks
I don't have PDA so I can only answer you about losing your sight when you stand up. It's a very common nuisance, even if a person doesn't have PDA. It means that you are standing up too quickly for your blood pressure to go from resting to standing/active. Getting up just a few seconds slower will help. Your doc is right, if you up your activity by shaking your feet or similar movement you get your circulation going a little faster and your blood circulation will soon reach your head and clear your eyesight. You can also take a preemptive approach and move your arms and/or legs around before getting up to increase your circulation. Your legs have more power than your arms to do this.
