I have been on 30 perk, 30 oxygen, 40 opana. This is all over a few years of course. Then I came off everything with the help of a great Dr. and suboxne. 2 yes later I injured my back. Very bad. The worst most disabling pain I have ever had. It has me out of work . I was recently put on 25 mcg fentanyl patch. I have actually noticed a slight improvement, but not close enough to be able to stand and shower, get ready, work, run errands etc... I have a very high tolerance to opiates and am seeking advice on what works for others? I like the patch because it is the only thing that has given me hope. At this junction I just want to be able to be a functioning mother and wife. HELP? SUGGESTIONS?
I too have a very high tolerence to opiates but have found relief with the Fentanyl patches. My doc started me on the 25's but like you it wasn't strong enough. He switched me to the 50's and I have much better pain control. I change my patch every 48 hours and I think that helps too. You might try going to the 50's and see if they work better for you. It is definetly something you should discuss with your doctor. I wish you all the best and hope that you find the relief you so desperately need.
