... morning and still panic and have anxiety so I come up with million excuses why I can't leave the house. Seems to taper off around lunch. Then after my episodes I get very tired and drained. I went from 20mg to 30mg of Celexa because I was still having anxiety and feeling down. I take my pill at 9 in the morning. Has any one else experienced this? I know they say it's 6 to 8 weeks till pill will fully work, do I have to suffer like this for another 5 weeks I am about to give up, and I just want to cry I hate this feeling

Update: Dec 21 2016. today is day 24 of 30mg of celexa and i think i am finally getting some relief. the last week has been hell and i was very close to packing up the pill, as i didn`t think i could handle any more. Today i did feel anxiety when i woke up but it didn``t get into a full blown panic like it has in the last week, it lasted a short while and felt good after. I am by far not 100% but think some of the side effects are fading away. I do feel very sleepy about 5 hours after taking the pill, and kind of a drunken feeling like my balance is off, but suprisnly normally i would be in a full blown attack by this feeling and i seem to be more calm about it, the anxiety is there just not as intense. hopefully day 24 is the start of me being my self again :).. just though i would up date in case anyone else was in my boat..
Almost a month is long enough for you to know if the med is going to work for you or not. You are still having symptoms of anxiety and panic. Adding another meds does not make sense if the first one is not working. There is no need for you to continue suffering. There are other meds you can try. Some do well with Lexapro which is like a sister med to Celexa. Or you may need to go to a SNRI. Your other option is to ask your doctor for something to help with the anxiety temporarily to help you wait out the possibility of the Celexa working. Best to talk to your doctor about your options.
Hope you feel better soon.
