... pharmacy is closed what do we do tonight? We have Humalog pens. How often should we check bs tonight
I guess we're in the lucky bunch, we have a pharmacy that is open all night, all the time. It should be checked frequently. If you see it getting up there, humalog can be used to bring it down, but I can not tell you what to use, a dr has to do that. You can't give the same amount as the lantus. I think you should watch his blood sugar, and if it gets over 200 take him to the er. Maybe a back up plan, like a schedule of what humalog to take if this should occur again would help.
