... back: dizziness, heart palp .,no appetite, headache. I weaned off and things got worse. I have lost 17 lbs. I went back on brand name 20 mg. Some days are ok and some are bad. It has been nine days.I just want to feel normal. I have to return to work in the school system in a month. Help!
You basically answered your question yourself - stick with the brand name 20mg. Give your body time to adjust to it - usually 2-6 weeks.
At 20mg. a day you are taking a baby dose of it. The therapeutic dose of Cymbalta (Duloxetine-the generic name) is 60 mg./day starting with 30mg. for one week then going to 60 mg. permanently. Higher doses do not help with your diagnosis and only increase side effects.
I have taken 60 mg. Cymbalta every morning for 6-7 years for chronic pain and had absolutely no side effects. This proves that taking any drug is highly individualistic in regard to side effects.
Hang in there! All the best,
