I have been on antidepressants for a lot of years is there more of a risk at my age my dr has cut me down to 10mg
The medicare governing agency came out with a drug list that supposedly is bad for us after 65. I don't know what changed in me when I hit 65 that was any different then when I was 64.5. So now the drs think we're all going to have trouble with these things, and instead of monitoring like they should, they'd rather change what's working. They say because we take these meds we'll fall and break our hips. I can still walk along the curb like a balance beam like I did when I was 10. I just want the government to leave us alone.
If you find that its not enough to help you, tell your dr you want to go back to what you were on. He needs to keep track of your kidney and liver function and if its low, then decreasing the dose would be called for because you wouldn't be metabolizing it as fast. But we are all different and all react differently to meds. Its like those stupid forms that have to be filled out when we go for a physical. Have you fallen in the last year. Well sure I have, all last winter in the snow and ice. I got back up just fine too.
