The half life of Adderall is about 10 hours.
This means that every 10 hours, half of the amount of Adderall in the body is removed, then in the next 10 hours half of the remaining Adderall is removed and that continues until it is all cleared.
It takes 5.5 elimination half lives for a medicine to be cleared from your system, therefore Adderall will be in your system at least 55 hours (5.5 x 10hrs).
Elimination of drugs can also be affected by other factors, so elimination may vary according to individual circumstances.
What if u took large amount of it how long would it take like a100 & some in 2 days?
Yes
No should not
72 hours to be out of your system
According to the prescribing package insert, and confirmed by a Wikipedia article on the subject, Adderall has a half-life of 12 hours. Hope this helps.
All the best,
Philip
The half life of Adderall is about 10 hours.
This means that every 10 hours, half of the previous amount of Adderall in the body disappears.
For example, if you took 10mg of Adderall at 12AM (midnight), at 10AM 5mg of Adderall will be left in your body. At 8PM, 2.5mg will be left, and so forth until there is 0mg left in your body.
i would say 3-4 days i took one ritelin and they drug tested me a week after and nothing came up

if doctor takes your blood 21hr later and u did 5mg would it be in system
Something that I found out when I was randomly drug tested at my job was the fact that even though Adderall was in my system and the testing facility had verified through my pharamacy that I did have a prescription, my employer did not have access to the fact that I was on the med. I found that to be interesting.
Amphetamine is detectable in the urine 1-4 days after a single use and longer after regular use. However, if he has a script for the adderall and is taking them legitamatly, than there shouldn't be a problem if you bring the bottle or script to the test or have them contact your dr.

I have a few questions regarding the lifespan of Adderall. First, is the half-life of Adderall XR different from regular Adderall? If so, what is it? Secondly, How is Adderall processed; liver or kidney? Is it water soluble? Lastly is it known to have any negative interactions with opioid blockers; i.e. Methadone, Suboxone, Subutex? If so, what?
For the question about whether the half-life is the same for immediate release or xr... The half-life is actually the same for all forms of adderall. However, what is different is the rate of absorption. Aderrall xr is absorbed by the gut at a much lower rate than immediate release, which allows the drug to act over a longer period of time. Overall, no matter what kind of dosage form you take, it will take about the same amount of days to be eliminated from your body. By the way..The half-life is 12-20 hours, not 10!
Kamuidagger,
Adderall is very soluble and metabolized rapidly via the liver, yet it is excreted 30% unchanged in the urine (so if your kidneys are messed up, you could have a problem). The potential for drug interactions is very minimal because adderall is metabolized by several different pathways (CYP450 and Flavin Mono-oxygenase). As for the drugs you mentioned, they do not interact with suboxone, Methadone, etc. However, drugs that increase your blood pressure or depression drugs (MAOI's) which also increase Dopamine, NE, and Serotonin levels could lead to serious adverse side effects!
So are you saying that people with Bi-Polar, that are being treated with meds, should not take Adderall? I am on Effexor ER and Geadon(spelling may not be right on this one) It is my mood one, to make sure its stable.
I am given a hard copy, for Adderall every month. 60 a month, 20mg pills, at two per day. Could my other meds for my depression and bipolar cause a bad reaction to happen while on the Adderall as well? Would appreciate any feedback... Thank you
I take adderral, Geodon and Xanax and it works well
