our friend is using cough syrup he received in 2011 to treat a bad cough he has had for 22 days.
If he's had a cough that long he needs to see a dr. Not use expired cough medicine.
A cough medication that old is likely no longer as effective and it could be laden with bacteria. It has been expired too long to be using. He needs to go see his primary care doctor!
The first two answers given to your question are exactly the right answers.Pain meds(either tablet or liquid) lose potentcy after a year and if temperature changes fluctuate where meds are stored, evenmore potentcy is lost.Trash it or dump down the toilet
