Messing with me. I've had increased anxiety.. Mood swings, and now sleep walking.. So she gave me Viibryd. I've heard of scary things of coming off of Zoloft. And just of of low doses. I've taken it for over two years now. So how is it I transition over? And I also hear it's an insurance problem. I have Obama care. Anyone know of that?
Unfortunately, Viibryd is a name brand medication, and hasn't been on the market long enough for the patent to run out. This is necessary before a generic of it can be offered to the public. Most insurance nowadays won't cover many brand name medications. I am assuming that Obamacare will not cover name brand drugs. You need to call your insurance company, though, and find out from them if they would cover Viibryd for you. If that is the case, explain it to your doctor and ask them if they will prescribe something instead that your insurance will cover.
If your doctor takes you off Zoloft and starts you on another antidepressant, he/she will titrate your Zoloft down in increments, and at the same time they will titrate your new antidepressant up in increments, which should result in a smooth transition. Good Luck!
