.In The ER they cut off the blister skin, put on syvadine cream & gave me a pain medication They .. it bandaged & told to see my primary. I went 2 days later, I was put on antibiotics 3000 of Keflex, pain medication & to come back in 2 days. The burn was infected, they added pain medication and wrapped it lighter. I can't fit my foot in a shoe & it has been a terribly painful experience. I had to lower the dosage of KEFLEX to 1500 at night, they added a pain medicine & I am trying to keep my foot elevated. I can't wear a shoe, am nauseated and exhausted with chills. Hope it will be better soon. An expensive, painful, experience. Hope 2 more weeks will have me healed up. Thanks!
You poor thing! Burns are so painful, I feel for you. Try and eat a light meal, or at least some crackers, with both the Keflex and the pain medication. This should help with the nausea. Drinking gingerale (make sure it's a brand that uses real ginger like Schwepp's), ginger tea or sucking on crystallized ginger will also help with the nausea. Staying off your feet as much as possible is boring for sure, but a necessary evil. I hope you feel better soon and heal quickly!
Hello. You have my empathy as well. Don't worry about shoes except when you really need them. No fashion show, right? I suggest a slipper. Contact the local senior center or Catholic Church. They have volunteers which will help you get to appointments, groceries. Smaller towns may well deliver medications. Although many volunteers are for people over 55, 60 or whatever. A church will be able to help you and generally, these days, one does not need to belong to the church. New town, new experiences.
Don't wait on the appointment. A fever can get so high so fast, you won't be able to get help if alone. Stay in touch. Karen
