Only 2.5mg is on the formulary
I truly hope that you are a student and not someone responsible for giving medications in the hospital. If you are, you need to attend a class on dosage calculations. Sometimes it helps to look at it this way. 2.5 is the same as 2.50 and you want 1.25 which is half of 2.50. You will also want to know how many mls. If you have 2.5mg in 1ml of fluid, you will give 0.5 ml for a 1.25 mg dose. If the 2.5mg is in 2mls, you want to give 1 ml for 1.25mg, etc. This is very basic.
