i was prescribed 5 mg flexeril for my back and 1 does not work for me.
10 mg of flexeril is an accepted dose, but your dr told you to take 5.
10mgs. won't hurt you, but since you were given and told to take 5mgs. you will run out of meds way before refill time and then you'll be stuck without anything. I would suggest calling the doctor and telling him 5mgs. does nothing and could he write a scrip for 10mgs. Then see what he says, doctors always start at the lowest dose when prescribing a new medication. This way if you are very sensitive to it you aren't taking too much and if it doesn't work, the doctor can adjust it. So I'd definitely call your doctor before taking more of your current dosage.
