my right hip has a 4 inch fracture and the ball is collpasing and on top of that now bone spurs are breaking off and i was wondering is their a stronger dose of oxycodone i could take or another pain med that would be stronger that my dr could perscribe to me
Lord yes, You are on a very low dose. Also an extended release med would probably help you better. With chronic pain you want to keep the medication in your body all the time to prevent the pain. To stay on oxycodone oxycontin would be the time release med. There are others too. MS contin (morphine) fentanyl patches, exalgo, opana. Do you see a pain management dr.
hello , yes i would tell your doctor you would like to be started on 80 mg oxycontin er twice daily, these are extended release and they work 12 hrs in your system, also ask him to increase your oxycodone to 4 30mg. oxycodone for immediate release wich is what you are taking now just a larger dose. catspaw1955
Remember that all these strong drugs are going to pay you back somewhere else in your body. Probably your pancreas or bowels. If you're stage 3, might be time to bite the bullet and have replacements done. Your quality of life will begin again and you will ultimately be drug free, or at least not taking such strong drugs. Your hips and knee are not going to get better at stage 3. Time to live again. Lisa.
