... doing the job anymore but I don't want to up the dosage. I'm going to ask for a different sleep aid. The only one that has helped in the past is Ambien. I'm also concerned about the fact that trazodone is also used for Depression. I'm frightened on stopping the medication due to my depression and possible withdrawal. Any help would be appreciated. I'm also taking Adderall AM, Lorazepam, Lamictal, and sertraline before bed.
Sorry no one has replied yet. Trazadone is one of the oldest anti depressants on the market. It's really not even prescribed for that any more. Because it's very weak anti depressant. Mostly prescribed for sleep now a days. You also build a very quick tolerance to it. Honestly im surprised you've been on it 6 years lol. Ambien is also a good sleep med, but a lot of people can't take it. Especially older people. It will make them crazy in the evening, sum downers sort of, but presceiption induced. There r many you could try. Lunesta? Just ask your doc, tell him trazadone has been maxed out, what can u try now. As long as u aren't begging for narcotics, or klonopin they usually will help and be useful. Lol lot of luck dear.
Why are you taking adderall before you go to sleep? Adderall is an amphetamine; it's a very strong stimulant. If you are prescribed adderall, take it in the morning; not at night!
There is another old school med that seems to work for me for sleep. Ask your doctor about doxepin. Abilify 30mg works at night as well. Good luck
