Is she too young to take these pills on a daily basis? Our family has a history of kidney problems.
Acidophilus will help restore a healthy balance of bacteria in her gut, which will aid in preventing yeast infections. This is a very good step! She needs to be careful to keep them refrigerated if the package states to do so, or the good bacteria will die. A better alternative would be to take Probiotics, which are a very thorough amount of the good bacteria one needs. My Urologist encourages me to take 2 doses a day, as I get UTIs often. Your daughter should especially take the maximum dose during and after a round of antibiotics, as they wipe out the good and the bad bacteria in the gut. Kudos to your daughter for finding a natural way to treat this problem and to be healthier! - EJ23
