My 11 year old son was recently diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder, so he has KAPVAY for his the ADHD part, he takes Clonidine for his trouble sleeping and now he is taking TRILEPTAL too.
Since Kapvay IS clonidine, I doubt he wanted him to take both. Is he having problems staying asleep? Kapvay is extended release clonidine. In ADHD, clonidine is usually given just once at bedtime to help kids who take stimulants during the day sleep but it is fairly short acting. If your son gets to sleep fine but cant stay asleep then the Kapvay may help him sleep longer. Double check the directions with his Dr to see if Kapvay was meant to replace clonidine or if he wanted him to have them both.
