This is probably a dumb question, but I really need to know. I have difficultly swallowing pills without getting choked, so I need to know if it can be taken a different way. I plan on bringing it up with my doctor, but since I already have the medicine and it will be a while before I’m able to speak with her again, I’d like to try and take what I have.
I believe there is an oral suspension form of this SSri (antidepressant) but not rectal route.
I suggest you confirm the oral suspension way of administration of this medication with your Dr. and Pharmacist.
Best of luck, masso.-
Hello! Yes, ask your doctor about prescribing the oral solution or the compounding formulation which a pharmacist can use to make a flavored suspension.
The rectal route wouldn't work as the drug would not be sufficiently absorbed.
