I have been on 10mg celexa for three days, had bad side effects, been off of it for 24 hours. How long does it take for the side effects to go away? Bad rash, feels like my skin is on fire, burning. Taking Benadryl to relief the pain.
Benadryl won't do much for pain, unless its an allergic reaction it might help a little bit. The half life is 35hrs. That means there will be a trace of it in your blood for approximately a week. The reaction should lessen as the days go by and more of the drug is excreted. I would keep taking the benadryl, but I think I'd add something like advil or aleve for the pain. Be sure to have your records marked as allergic to celexa at all the docs you see and your pharmacy.
