... arthritis in my neck and back. I was prescribed 4 of 7.5mg a day but now im down to 2 a day. My dr is ok w it right now.. And on here ive seen that its mostly ok as long as you stop no later than 7 mo along... Please give me some suggestions
I'm not an OB/GYN, however, an Anesthesiologist as well as Board Certified in Pain Management and so for 10 weeks of your pregnancy ( the first 10 ) you were taking 30mg of OxyCodone/day. Now, your down to 15mg/day? Correct? When your pregnant, your ob/gyn should have weened you down off this medication as fast as possible. I do not know where your getting this info regarding it's okay to ingest 15mg/day of Percocet up until your 7 month, but if that was me, I would literally have been fired, and my attending would have moved to possibly have my medical license taken away for, who knows, at least 2-5 years! I don't want to upset you, moreover, after birth they will and shall hold your child on the maternity floor until he/she has detoxed from this highly potent opiate narcotic! Imagine a 6-7lb.
new-born receiving just 1-1 1/2mg of Percocet! Their heart would stop, and thats exactly what I would do right now, quite taking that medication. Lastly, don't cold turkey because being pregnant there are numerous health issues by the fact that your pregnant would be harmful for the both of you!! Talk with a physician and not this "idiot" OB/GYN regarding how they will comfortably ween you off as soon as they possibly can sweetheart! You could even see a Pain Management Physician like myself.
I would switch you to a longer lasting form such as even the new ZoHydro which is extended-release hydro-codone probably start from a week on 20-to-30mg/day. then a week of the 10mg and this is of course i capsule/day. after two weeks, there is a very safe medication that helps tremendoulsy with minor, very minor withdrawal symptoms which you might have ( approx. 30% chance of having any withdrawal at all ) but it's called clonidine. Now, not Klonopin, but clonidine! It help even those that have been withdrawing from Heroin, Methadone, Dilaudid, Fentanyl, however, helps a little not a lot but with your such low dose, it will help tremendously! Hope this helps and finds you well! Feel free to reply if you have any further ?'s!! Congratulations are in order as well! Take Care,,
