I was reducing the excess novolin r in my syringe to achieve my correct dosage and
Picked up the bottle half vial of novolin n by mistake. I set the vial of "r" down to read the numbers.
Can I use 1/2 vial of novolin that I accidently dumped 25 units of novolin r in it?

I think it would be okay as long as it is the NPH insulin. Was the bottle pretty full? If so then it will likely be okay but you may get a bit of R in each dose so watch your sugars carefully until you finish the vial. If it had been N into the R then no, it wouldnt have been any good, but a little R into the N probably wont hurt if the vial was fairly full. If the vial was less than 3/4 empty though, just discard it. If you decide to go ahead and use it and suddenly your numbers start dumping and you get hypoglycemic then you need to discard it because you are getting too much R with your N dose.
