Directions For Use
- Wear chemical-resistant gloves during product use.
- For maximum benefit, apply in spring after flies emerge.
- The entire herd must be tagged to control flies as claimed.
- Rate to use:
Horn Flies - tag 1 ear
Horn Flies and Face Flies - tag both ears
- Remove tags at the end of the season and before slaughter.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Y-TEX OPtimizer® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags can be conveniently applied with the Y-TEX® UltraTagger.™ Assemble unit and position tag on the firm flat surface in the centre of the ear between the ribs. Make sure the shaft of the male tag does not penetrate a rib or blood vessel.
RETAIN CARTON FOR USE AND DISPOSAL DIRECTIONS.
NOTICE TO USER: This pest control product is to be used only in accordance with the directions on the label. It is an offense under the PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS ACT to use this product in a way that is inconsistent with the directions on the label. The user assumes the risk to persons or property that arises from any such use of this product.
FIRST AID: If skin irritation occurs, wash immediately with soap and water. If eye irritation occurs, flush eyes thoroughly with water. If illness results from licking or chewing, obtain medical attention, taking Y-TEX OPtimizer® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags carton. Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Product Registration Number with you when seeking medical attention.
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION: The treatment should be primarily symptomatic and supportive. Diazinon is a cholinesterase inhibitor. Atropine is an antidote.
PrecautionsKEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Avoid contact with eyes, skin or mouth. Harmful if swallowed. Wear chemical-resistant gloves during application or when otherwise handling the product.Wash hands thoroughly after handling the product. Store unused tags in original carton away from heat.
DisposalThe active ingredient in Y-TEX OPtimizer® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags is highly toxic to fish, birds, bees and other wildlife. Make empty carton and pouch unsuitable for further use. Dispose of pouch and used or recovered fallen tags according to municipal and provincial regulations. Do not dispose of used tags near a source of water. For information on disposal of unused, unwanted product, contact the manufacturer or the provincial regulatory agency.
GENERAL INFORMATION: Used as directed, Y-TEX OPtimizer® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags will provide season-long control of HORN FLIES and will reduce annoyance from FACE FLIES. Significant gains in weight and milk yield can be achieved with Y-TEX OPtimizer® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tags. This tag contains an active ingredient from the organophosphate family and is designed to control HORN FLIES that may already be resistant to the synthetic pyrethroid family of insecticides.
RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: The use of this product for horn fly control should conform to current resistance management strategies. For the latest information on horn fly populations and their control strategies in your area, please consult with your local Provincial authorities or your Y-TEX representative.
