West-Vet Prepodyne Solution Indications

An antiseptic, PREPODYNE^® Solution can be used for both pre-and post-surgical application as well as for general skin application. It can also be used for preparing the skin prior to injections, aspirations, lavages, or emergency treatment of lacerations and abrasions.

The iodine complex releases its iodine at a pre-determined rate, resulting in a topical antiseptic solution with prolonged germ-killing action. The solution is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria as well as against fungi and other disease-causing organisms.

PREPODYNE^® Solution also destroys a broad range of micro-organisms including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus (antibiotic resistant), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Serratia marcescens, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhosa, Salmonella choleraesuis, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Shigella sonnei and Candida albicans.

West-Vet Prepodyne Solution Dosage And Administration

PREPODYNE^® Solution retains its germicidal activity in up to 10% blood. Application, by swab or spray, should be confined to the prepared skin area of the operative site; the solution should not be allowed to pool. Bandages or tape can be applied to the treated area without their adhesiveness being affected by the solution.
