DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
For the cleaning and disinfection of hard, non-porous surfaces in all animal containment areas (e.g. floors, walls, pens, stable equipment, etc.) including medical facilities, veterinary facilities and food processing establishments.
Poultry and livestock must be removed from the areas being disinfected.
Rinse all food contact surfaces thoroughly with potable water after treatment with VIR-KIL.
Remove gross contamination and clean all surfaces prior to disinfection.
Mix solutions of VIR-KIL using clean water at room temperature (20°C). When preparing VIR-KIL solution, measure amount of water, pour into mixing container, then add product. Product may react if water is added to product.
NOTE: Close container tightly when not in use. Do not put damp or wet objects inside container.
For Routine Cleaning: Thoroughly clean all surfaces with a 0.5% solution (5 grams of VIR-KIL to 1 litre of water).
For Bacteria, Virus and Fungus Control: Use a 1% solution (10 grams of VIR-KIL to 1 litre of water) to disinfect all hard, non-porous surfaces. Allow surface to remain wet for 10 minutes.
For Use with Fogging Equipment: Operators should wear protective equipment as indicated in the Precautions section during the application of this product. To disinfect floors, walls, fixtures and all animal containment areas, ensure all livestock, food and feed materials are removed from the premises. Use a 1% solution (10 grams of VIR-KIL to 1 litre of water) applied at the rate of one litre of solution per 100 cubic metres to disinfect pre-cleaned surfaces. Ensure all surfaces are thoroughly wetted for at least 10 minutes. Do not enter the treated area until the fog has dispersed. It is recommended that fresh solutions be prepared daily, however unused solutions of VIR-KIL remain stable for up to 7 days.
Toxicological Information: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.
Contains: Persulfate, chlorinated isocyanurate, sulfamic acid, dye and fragrance.
Disposal: Do not reuse container. Follow provincial instructions for any required cleaning of container prior to disposal. Make empty container unsuitable for reuse and dispose in accordance with provincial requirements. For information on disposal of unused, unwanted product and the cleanup of spills, contact the provincial regulatory agency or the manufacturer.
Precautions: The powder is irritating to eyes, skin, and mucous membranes. May be harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Avoid contact of powder with skin. Do not mix other chemicals. Contains a source of chlorine and can form dangerous gas if mixed with incompatible materials. When mixing solution, wear chemical resistant gloves. It is recommended that workers wear long sleeved shirts and long pants while spraying as well as respiratory protection when operating hand-held foggers.
First Aid: Eyes: Irrigate with water. Skin: Contact with use-solution is non-hazardous. For contact with powder, remove contaminated clothing and wash the affected area of skin with soap and water. Ingestion: For solution, rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Contact a poison control centre and seek medical advice immediately. Inhalation: If dust from the powder or mist from the fogging solution is inhaled and symptoms of coughing, choking or difficultly with breathing result, move to fresh air and seek medical attention. Take container, label or product name and registration number with you when seeking medical attention.
Notice to User: This control product is to be used with the directions on the label. It is an offense to use this product under unsafe conditions.
