General Information

Kills adult cat fleas, dog fleas, American dog and brown dog ticks. Effectively breaks the flea life cycle and prevents the growth of the pre-adult stages of the flea. On dogs and cats, one treatment kills adult fleas for up to 7 days and keeps flea eggs from hatching for 2 months.

Directions For Use

Do NOT administer by mouth. Use only in well-ventilated areas, preferably outdoors. Shake can well before using. Cover animal's eyes with hand and with a firm, fast stroke, spray head, ears and chest until damp, but not soaked. With fingertips, rub into face around mouth, nose and eyes. Then spray the neck, middle and hind quarters finishing with legs. Make sure spray thoroughly wets ticks. For best results, spray against natural lay of the hair, rub in well and, following the natural lay of the hair, wipe off excess with dry cloth and then brush. The application of 8.5 mL of Vet-Kem Ovitrol Plus for Dogs and Cats (with Precor^®) per kilogram of body weight (i.e. 6 squeezes of the trigger sprayer per kilogram) will provide effective flea control. Repeat only as necessary (i.e. only if flea infestation on pet is evident). Given the residual control afforded by Vet-Kem Ovitrol Plus for Dogs and Cats, the application of this product once every 2 months should be adequate. In exceptional circumstances, where there is a heavy external source of adult fleas re-infesting the animal, re-treatment may be increased to once per week. Do not use this spray more often than once every week. Bathing of the animal may affect product efficacy. Do not treat eyes or genitals. Do NOT use on nursing animals or on dogs or cats under 8 weeks of age. Consult a veterinarian before using on sick, aged or pregnant animals or animals receiving drug or other pesticide treatment. Treatment must only be repeated if pest problem reoccurs. For effective flea and tick control, treatment of the pet should be combined with sanitation of any area used by the pet. Vacuum floors, carpets and furniture (discard vacuum bag after use) and wash the pet's bedding, living quarters and surrounding areas. If pest problems persist, an insecticidal treatment of the premises may be required (e.g. Vet-Kem Siphotrol^® products). A veterinarian should be consulted when pest infestation continues to be a problem on the pet.

Humans

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, skin and clothing. Wear rubber gloves, during application of this product. After handling or applying, wash hands (or any other skin that came into contact with the product) with soap and water. Avoid contact with pet until dry. Avoid product contact with food, food utensils or places where food is prepared or stored.

Pets

Harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with pet's mouth, eyes and genitals. Toxic to fish and other aquatic life. Cover fish aquaria in the vicinity of treatment area. Toxic to birds.

First Aid: Humans

IF SWALLOWED, call physician or Poison Control Centre immediately. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water and induce vomiting by touching back of throat with finger. Do not induce vomiting or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. IF ON SKIN, wash affected area with soap and water. IF IN EYES, flush with plenty of water. If skin or eye irritation persists, obtain medical attention.

Pets

Sensitivities may occur after using ANY pesticide for pets. Sensitive cats may exhibit temporary and non-harmful salivation when exposed to products containing pyrethrins. In cases of known sensitivity, the use of lower treatment rates is recommended. If signs of sensitivity occur bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately. Take container, label or product name and Pest Control Product Registration Number with you when seeking medical or veterinary attention.

Disposal

Do not reuse empty container. Wrap and dispose of empty container with household garbage.
