V.T.D. Indications
V.T.D. (Veterinary Type Disinfectant) is an effective bactericide, fungicide (against pathogenic fungi) and virucide in the presence of organic soil (5% blood serum).Bactericidal activity: When used as directed. V.T.D. demonstrates effective disinfectant activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella schuttmuelleria, Salmonella choleraesuis, Streptococcus faecallis, Shigella dysenteriae, Enterobacter aerogenes and Staphylococcus aureus. When used as directed, this formulation is an effective disinfectant against Pseudomonas aeruginosa in animal hospitals and laboratories.
Virucidal activity: When used at the 1 oz. to one (1) gallon dilution rate, V.T.D. exhibits effective virucidal activity on inanimate hard surfaces against canine distemper, canine parvovirus, pseudorabies virus, vaccine virus, influenza A2, herpes complex and adenovirus type 2.
V.T.D. Dosage And Administration
It is a violation of federal law to use the product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.V.T.D. is designed specifically for use in animal hospitals, animal laboratories, kennels, pet shops, zoos and pet animal quarters. When used as directed, the formulation is designed to disinfect, deodorize and clean inanimate hard surfaces such as walls, floors, sink-tops, furniture, operating tables, kennel runs, cages, and feeding and watering equipment.
In addition, V.T.D. will deodorize those areas which generally are hard to keep fresh smelling such as garbage storage areas, empty garbage bins and cans, and any other areas which are prone to odors caused by micro-organisms.
Disinfection: For disinfecting, add 1 oz. of V.T.D. to one (1) gallon of water and apply the solution with a mop, cloth, sponge or mechanical sprayer so as to wet all surfaces thoroughly. Allow to remain wet for 10 minutes and then let air dry.
For feeding and watering equipment, rinse with potable water after disinfecting.
For heavily soiled or contaminated areas, a precleaning step is required. Prepare a fresh solution for each use.
Mildewstat: To control mold and mildew on precleaned hard nonporous surfaces, add 1 oz. to one (1) gallon of water. Apply the solution with a cloth, mop or sponge making sure to wet all surfaces completely. Let air dry. Prepare a fresh solution for each use. Repeat the application at weekly intervals or when mildew growth re-appears.
Precaution(s)
Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage and disposal.Storage: Store in a dry place no lower in temperature than 50°F or higher than 120°F.
Container Disposal: Do not re-use the empty container. Triple rinse the empty container with water. Rinse the metal drum, then offer for reconditioning or puncture and dispose of in a sanitary landfill site, or by other procedures approved by state and local authorities. Plastic containers may be disposed of in a sanitary landfill site, incinerated or if allowed by local authorities by burning. If burned, stay out of smoke.
Pesticide Disposal: Pesticide wastes are acutely hazardous. Improper disposal of excess pesticide, spray mixture, or rinsate is a violation of federal law. If these wastes cannot be disposed of according to label instructions, contact the State Pesticide or Environmental Control Agency, or the Hazardous Waste representative at the nearest EPA regional office for guidance.
V.T.D. Caution(s)
Precautionary Statements: Hazard to Humans and Domestic Animals:Danger - Keep out of the reach of children. Causes severe eye and skin damage. Do not get in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Wear goggles or a face shield and rubber gloves when handling. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Avoid the contamination of food.
Statement of Practical Treatment: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. For eyes, call a physician. Remove and wash all contaminated clothing before re-use.
If swallowed, promptly drink a large quantity of milk, egg whites, gelatin solution or if these are not available, drink large quantities of water. Call a physician immediately.
Note to Physician: Probable muscosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage. Measures against circulatory shock as well as oxygen and measures to support breathing manually or mechanically may be needed. If persistent, convulsions may be controlled by the cautious intravenous injection of a short acting barbituate drug.
