This treatment applies to the following species:Canine Distemper-Hepatitis-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus Vaccine
Modified Live Virus
Leptospira Bacterin
Description
Solo-Jec-7™ vaccine is a combination of antigenic, attenuated strains of Canine Distemper, Canine Parainfluenza, Canine Hepatitis and Parvovirus propagated in cell line tissue cultures. The liquid diluent is Parvovirus Vaccine-Leptospira canicola-icterohaemorrhagiae Bacterin. The CD Virus fraction has been proven safe and non-shedding when injected into susceptible dogs. The infectious Canine Hepatitis (CAV-1) fraction cross protects against respiratory disease caused by CAV-2.Solo-Jec-7 Indications
For the vaccination of healthy, susceptible dogs as an aid in the reduction of diseases caused by canine distemper, hepatitis (canine adenovirus type 1), canine adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, parvovirus, Leptospira canicola and Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae.Directions
The dry Distemper-Hepatitis-Parainfluenza Vaccine is rehydrated with 1 mL of liquid Parvovirus Vaccine-Leptospira canicola-icterohaemorrhagiae Bacterin. Shake well. To open syringe, break heat weld by twisting cap or tapping against a hard surface.Dosage
Using aseptic technique, inject 1 mL intramuscularly or subcutaneously. To give subcutaneously, inject under loose skin (back of neck or behind front leg) or to give intramuscularly, inject into the muscle of the hind limb (see illustration). Repeat dosage in 3 to 4 weeks. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended. Puppies vaccinated before 9 weeks of age should be revaccinated at 3 to 4 week intervals until 14 to 16 weeks of age. Regardless of age all dogs should receive 2 doses of vaccine in order to ensure adequate levels of immunity against canine parainfluenza and parvovirus.
Precautions
Store out of direct sunlight at 35°-45°F (2°-7°C). Avoid freezing. Do not vaccinate pregnant animals. Burn containers and all unused contents. Under no circumstances is this product recommended for use in ferrets or mink. An occasional transitory corneal opacity may occur following administration of the vaccine. This will disappear without untoward effect on the animal. Protective immunity may not be established in all puppies vaccinated at less than 16 weeks of age because of maternal antibody interference. Anaphylactoid reactions may occur.Antidote
