Sodium Iodide 20% Injection Indications

SODIUM IODIDE 20% INJECTION is used as an aid in the treatment of actinomycosis (lumpy jaw), actinobacillosis (wooden tongue, necrotic stomatitis) in cattle and also as an expectorant in respiratory conditions in cattle, horses, and sheep.

Sodium Iodide 20% Injection Dosage And Administration

Cattle (actinomycosis and actinobacillosis): 15 mL per 45.4 kg of body weight, repeat in 7-10 days.

Cattle and Horses (expectorant): 10-40 mL.

Sheep (expectorant): 5-10 mL.

Contraindication(s)

SODIUM IODIDE 20% INJECTION is contraindicated in hyperthyroidism, advanced pregnancy, and acute metal poisoning.

Precaution(s)

Store at room temperature (15°-25°C).

Warning(s)

This product may produce shock and death and should be administered under proper supervision.

Do not give to cows in advanced pregnancy as it may produce abortion.

Avoid subcutaneous or intramuscular administration.

Milk taken from treated animals within 72 hours after the last treatment with this drug must not be used in food.
